No, you don’t understand, Funimation putting that picture of Alfred under their Memorial Day message was pretty fucking tasteless.
Wait what did they do.
Okay NM I found it. Funimation handling Hetalia in a tasteless manner? WHO IS SURPRISED. NOT ME. That’s pretty much their default mode by now.
I agree that I’m really not surprised by how they behaved in regards to that. They took Hetalia which can actually be a really thoughtful series in the manga and even occasionally the anime and twisted it into a sick parody of itself. The dub annoys me to no end because they didn’t take the show seriously at all. I’m really annoyed that they continue to do it as well. I love America the way he is portrayed in the original Japanese version, they made him completely asanine in the English dub. They might think they’re being ironic sometimes, but I really wonder how much they drink before going into the recording studio.
Funimation is showing itself to be full of extremely childish people, even their other series are suffering because they know they have the licenses to popular shows that people will buy even if they do really crappy dubs and make fun of the series. Every time a Funimation trailer pops up anywhere I really want to smack the voice over person because it’s obvious they are spitting on the fans. As far as Hetalia goes, it’s obvious that none of them have friends or family that serve, because otherwise they would have chosen a more neutral America photo, or better yet, not use a military holiday to advertise their television show.
It’s a shame that this will turn people off from (in some parts of it - which is true of every fandom) what can be a thoughtful series and a thoughtful fandom. Of course, like every fandom, there will be the tasteless group, and it’s seems that Funimation is trying to appeal to that demographic.
/end rant.

Yes this can absolutely be on my blog on Memorial Day.
These are great pictures. I hope the guys will be able to bring them back and not have to leave them behind.

No one in America should ever be afraid to walk down the street holding hands with the person they love.
